Este ciclo de cine cuenta con las presentaciones de Juan A. Suárez, especialista en cine underground norteamericano, Rolando Peña, artista venezolano y protagonista de Diálogo con el Che, y MM Serra, cineasta, programadora y archivista fílmica responsable de la restauración del film.  


Diálogo con el Che muestra en dos pantallas a un combativo Che Guevara, interpretado por Rolando Peña, hablando del futuro y qué es Latinoamérica. Rodada al poco de conocerse la muerte del Che, es un ejercicio de invocación animado por las técnicas del actor distante de Bertolt Brecht y el cine político de Glauber Rocha, Fernando Pino Solanas y Jean-Luc Godard.

El Dorado: Myths of Gold

Americas Society’s two-part exhibition, El Dorado: Myths of Gold, is on display from January 24 through May 18, 2024.

The exhibition explores the legend of El Dorado as a foundational myth of the Americas, from the pre-Hispanic period to the contemporary era. Rolando Peña
Curated by Aimé Iglesias Lukin, Tie Jojima, and Edward J. Sullivan. 
The gallery is open Wednesday through Friday from 12-6 pm and Saturday from 12-5 pm.

La segunda parte de la exposición de dos partes de Americas Society, El Dorado: Mitos del oro, se exhibirá del 24 de enero al 18 de mayo de 2024. La exposición explora la leyenda de El Dorado como un mito fundacional de las Américas, desde la período prehispánico hasta la época contemporánea. Curada por Aimé Iglesias Lukin, Tie Jojima y Edward J. Sullivan.
La galería está abierta de miércoles a viernes de 12 a 6 p. m. y los sábados de 12 a 5 p. m.

Americas Society presents This Must Be the Place: Latin American Artists in New York, 1965–1975, a two-part group exhibition exploring the work of a generation of migrants who created and exhibited in New York City between 1965 and 1975. Featuring installation, photography, video art, painting, and archival material, the exhibition brings together a generation that actively participated in experimental artistic movements while pushing forward their own visual languages and ideas, with works exploring topics of migration, identity, politics, exile, and nostalgia. Additionally, the exhibition highlights the important contributions and solidarity initiatives of groups and collectives, testimony of these artists effort to create community and to forge a space for themselves.
